The Social Savannahs Approach

At Social Savannahs, our approach to socialization goes above and beyond to ensure the well-being and comfort of our kittens. When a Dam (queen) is pregnant, she’s welcomed into our home, where she delivers and nurtures her kittens in a specially prepared bedroom. This in-home environment provides a stress-free and secure setting for both the mother and her kittens. The kittens remain indoors until they are ready to join their forever families, never housed in enclosures or cages.

From the moment they begin their journey into the world, we are hands-on, involved, and committed to their social development. Whether it’s assisting with their arrival or handling them delicately from day one, even before their eyes open, our aim is to establish trust and familiarity. This early exposure ensures that when their eyes do open, they recognize us and feel a bond, creating a foundation for a confident and affectionate demeanor. Our meticulous socialization process sets the stage for a lifetime of happy interactions and companionship.

"I have worked with big cats for years, and raising healthy, well-socialized Savannah kittens is a passion project as much as it is a business for me. In my experience, a well-socialized Savannah makes a wonderful family pet, unmatched by any other domestic cat breed. But, unfortunately, too many breeders fail to socialize their kittens. I started Social Savannahs to ensure no family will pay top dollar for a near-feral animal that won’t bond with them and fears human contact. My kittens are raised in my home with lots of love. They crave cuddles and attention from their owners."
